Do you ever feel overwhelmed? Do you feel like your To Do list never ends? Is there not enough hours in the day? Trust me you are not alone in your day-to-day struggles. I have been there too. Seems like life just gets busier and busier, and the time keeps ticking away. Yikes, it’s already March!
If you are like me, I have a very busy life and I put others first. You feel like your chores and job is never done. Whether it be preparing meals, doing laundry, driving kids, cleaning the house, spending the evening with your spouse, much less all the work and deadlines at work. And you can’t forget my P90X workout too. Yes, our jobs never seem to end.
One thing that does help me stay sane, and I wanted to share with you, was Me Time. Sounds a little childish or selfish, but it really helps. It’s all about taking some time out and doing something for you. Most days I only take a breather for about 5 or 10 minutes. Other days I try to squeeze in 30 minutes. We all deserve some time to do what we enjoy in life.
So today, I give you permission. Take a timeout. Get away from all distractions and do something for yourself. Some of the things I like to do include:
- Take a bubble bath
- Read a magazine
- Go for a walk
- Enjoy a glass of wine by myself
- Watch a favorite TV show by myself
- Get a pedicure
- Enjoy a hobby
Do you know what the best thing about taking this little bit of time for us? We end up being a better person. We are happier, we slow down, we enjoy life more, and we are happier to be around. You deserve some Me Time and everyone around you will benefit from it.
Take some time out today or tomorrow and treat yourself for a few minutes or more. I’d love to hear what you choose to do with your Me time. We all need it and deserve it. My two personal favorites are taking a bubble bath and getting a pedicure.
Oh, one more thing. Don’t feel guilty for taking this time for you. You deserve it and need it. No guilt allowed. And remember you are not alone. We all need and do this.
